В субботу, 18 апреля, состоялось ежегодное заседание Международного консультативного совета Высшей школы бизнеса.
На заседании присутствовали члены Совета, в том числе выдающиеся и активные выпускники, приглашенные в качестве членов Совета, а также руководители высшего звена. Заседание проходило под председательством Умут Шаяхметовой, председателя правления «Халык Банк», одного из ведущих финансовых институтов Казахстана.

Обсуждение было сосредоточено на ключевых стратегических приоритетах Школы и ее будущем развитии. Среди центральных тем были путь Школы к международной аккредитации, планируемое включение кафедры экономики в учебный процесс, взаимодействие с выпускниками и инициативы по привлечению средств для обеспечения долгосрочной устойчивости.
Значительная часть обсуждения была посвящена роли выпускников в поддержке Школы — посредством активного участия, защиты интересов и вклада в институциональный рост.
Совет также подвел итоги прошедшего года и обсудил приоритеты и планы на предстоящий год, согласовав следующий этап развития Школы.

Особенно важно отметить неизменную поддержку Умут Шаяхметовой образовательных и академических инициатив. Как ведущая фигура в финансовом секторе Казахстана и давний сторонник взаимодействия университетов со студентами и академическим сообществом, её участие отражает тесную связь между лидерством в бизнесе и развитием высшего образования.

В рамках инициатив Международного консультативного совета также было объявлено о запуске Финансовой лаборатории «Халык Банк» — важного шага на пути к укреплению практического образования, сотрудничества с промышленностью и финансовой экспертизы в рамках Школы.
Подобные встречи играют ключевую роль в формировании стратегического направления Школы, укреплении её международных позиций и создании сильной, вовлеченной экосистемы вокруг неё.
Взгляд в будущее на следующий этап роста.

18 апреля в Астане состоялась встреча Fuqua Around The World 2026, которая объединила выпускников Duke University, Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business, а также представителей международного alumni-сообщества в Казахстане. Мероприятие прошло в теплой, живой и очень открытой атмосфере, создав пространство для общения, нетворкинга, обмена опытом и укрепления профессиональных и личных связей между выпускниками ведущих университетов.

Встреча прошла в формате дружеского интеллектуального квиза, где были вопросы, связанные с университетами, вопросы на общую эрудицию, логику, а также более сложные и нестандартные задания. Такой формат сделал мероприятие не только содержательным, но и по-настоящему живым, вовлекающим и объединяющим.

Эта встреча была проведена по инициативе сообщества выпускников Duke в Казахстане в лице Бахыта Оспанова и Айки Алеми, благодаря их вовлеченности, энергии и стремлению развивать alumni-взаимодействие и поддерживать связи внутри международного сообщества выпускников. Именно такие инициативы помогают формировать живую и устойчивую alumni-среду, где есть место не только воспоминаниям об alma mater, но и новым идеям, партнерствам, дружбе и совместным проектам.

Особенно ценно, что на встречу также были приглашены активные представители alumni-сообществ ведущих мировых университетов в Казахстане, включая Гарвард, Колумбию, MIT, Стэнфорд и другие университеты. Это придало мероприятию более широкий международный контекст и создало дополнительные возможности для межуниверситетского общения, обмена опытом и укрепления связей между alumni-сообществами.

Выражаем искреннюю благодарность Nazarbayev University за поддержку проведения этой встречи и за предоставленную возможность собрать выпускников в пространстве университета. Отдельно благодарим Высшую школу бизнеса Назарбаев Университета за открытость к сотрудничеству, поддержку международных alumni-инициатив и содействие в организации мероприятия.

Такое содействие еще раз показывает, насколько важную роль alumni-ассоциации играют в укреплении профессиональных сообществ, развитии культуры взаимной поддержки и создании новых точек роста для выпускников.

Для нас особенно ценно, что эта встреча стала еще одним подтверждением и продолжением многолетнего сотрудничества между Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, и Высшей школой бизнеса Назарбаев Университета. 💡 At the master class, Assel Nurakhanova shared advanced methods for diagnosing and improving corporate culture in companies. On July 28, we had the pleasure of hosting an engaging event featuring the esteemed guest Yerlik Karazhan @karazhan08 , co-founder, and director of ESGQ rating agency. With a Ph.D. in Economics and a Master's from the prestigious London School of Economics under the Bolashak program, Yerlik Karazhan is a true specialist in sustainable development♻️, bringing over 25 years of related experience.

The focal point✅ of the meeting was "ESG: Fundamentals and Agenda in Kazakhstan." The event unfolded in an interactive format, with stimulating discussions and insightful questions and answers. Yerlik Karazhan shared his visionary approach and narrated the inspiring story of integrating sustainable development into his professional journey.

Throughout the meeting, we delved into significant topics such as the future of sustainable development in Kazakhstan, history of international climate movement, world scenarios of the Club of Rome, and the essence of sustainable development as managing long-term risks, energy transition and reputation management for entrepreneurs and their ventures.

This past Saturday, we gathered at BUNO Coffee Shop to bid a fond farewell to our beloved Prof. Chet Boruki. It was an event filled with gratitude, nostalgia, and heartfelt goodbyes. 🙏🎉

Professor Boruki has been our beacon at GSB, teaching strategy since the school's inception. As he embarks on his next adventure, we look back with appreciation for his invaluable contributions and forward with well wishes for his journey. 🌍✈️

- Business talk with expert Darmen Sadvakasov on the topic "Challenges in the labor market: is there another economy besides the economy of jobs?". Darmen Sadvakasov - International Grandmaster, Vice President of the Chess Federation of Kazakhstan, member of the Youth Policy Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, founder and managing partner of Dasco Capital Ltd and Dasco Consulting Group. During the meeting, Darmen shared his expert opinion on the main challenges and changes in the modern labor market of Kazakhstan, and also presented his ideas on proposals and ideas to improve the current situation. The event provided a unique opportunity to discuss a hot topic and ask Darmen questions about his professional activities in the field of strategic consulting

The Kazakhstan company "Technogroupservice", a leader in the field of renewable energy, became one of the few first companies whose success story was presented in the form of a business case for the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business. Kazakhstani business-case soon will be available for teaching and learning by students of business schools around the world.
The co-founder of the Technogroupservice company and the protagonist of the company’s business case, Zhomart Mominbaev EMBA 2016, was happy to share with his alma mater and community, the history of the development and growth of the enterprise with all its ups and downs.
According to students who studied the case of Technogroupservice as part of a business strategy course by NU GSB professor Chet Borucki, it was especially interesting and useful for them to consider and explore the experience of a real domestic modern company in such a dynamically developing area as alternative energy. Business cases of successful Kazakh companies allow business school students to apply their knowledge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship to solve real problems and develop specific recommendations, thus trying themselves in the role of professional business consultants.

Last Saturday 11/02/2023 SPE Astana Section in collaboration with Alumni Association of the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business held the first for the SPE in Kazakhstan Startup Challenge. The event was sponsored by KPO and organized under the partnership with Petrocouncil, Science Foundation and AIFC Tech Hub. The call for startup projects was launched in late December 2022. By February 1st 2023, the group of experts Ulan Burkitov, Yaromir Rabay, Assylbek Jakiyev, Rustem Rakymbay, Nurasyl Jarbassov and Assel Aimusheva selected 10 best projects for the final pitch.
Organizers, partners and selected teams gathered in the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business, where the teams had an opportunity to pitch in front of the judges: JSC Science Foundation - Assel Zhunussova and Yuliya Vyatkina, KPO - Alimbek Akhmetkaliyev, Tech Hub - Arslan Kudiyar, Chairman of the NUGSB Alumni Association council- Nurassyl Jarbassov , ICTC of MoE - Zhuldyz Zharmagambet.
After the pitch and long discussion between the judges, 4 best teams were selected. They are: "A-business Kazakhstan" LLP with the Robotics Process Automation solution, Data Rocks LLP with the software for managing technical conditions of production equipment and processes, Neuron Oil with the Simulator for oil field development and Al-Farabi KazNU, Chemistry Department for the Plant growth stimulator based on sulfur nanopartical with fungicidal effect Nanoquqirt. All the winners will have an opportunity to pitch to KPO and potential interested companies in the industry. Besides that, Nanuququrt project was awarded a special prize of 300,000 KZT from the Business Angel - Nurassyl Jarbassov.

Бизнес-практикум "Бизнес-ангельские инвестиции и как оформить инвестиции в стартап-проект"
Совместно с Бюро МФЦА прошел бизнес-практикум на тему инвестиций. Спикеры рассказали о практических аспектах бизнес-ангельских инвестиций и разобрали юридические аспекты. Все участники получили сертификаты.

Интеллектуальная игра "QuizPlease"
Интеллектуальная игра в честь годовщины со дня создания Ассоциации выпускников ВШБ НУ. Командная игра прошла в одном из уютных заведений нашего города - ресторане SVOY. Все участники получили приятные эмоции и открыли для себя много нового.
